Do you drive cars made by brands in your country or others?

Although there are assembly plants here for Japanese cars for instance, I tend to buy foreign brand cars. I have an older Toyota right now. They last forever. My last car kind of broke the pattern it was a Dodge Neon, and a fine car engine wise but the body was like a tin can. What about you? Do you buy American brands or those from another country?

I have driven Hyundai's in the past. I had good luck with two of them, but one was a disaster! I think it was before they had them, or at least I wasn't aware of them, lemon laws.

For me it doesn’t matter the brand and if it’s US based or not. As long as the car works, Haas good safety I’m happy. Right now we have two cars one is a Ford that is US car and we have VW which is a German car.

My husband likes to buy cars assembled and or manufactured here in Canada. He used to work for a tier 2 manufacturer so hence the choices he's made.
He has driven a Ford, Chrysler and Chevs. The Ford he sold because it was hard on gas and expensive to keep up for what it was worth, the Chrysler he hated and only bought because I liked it, we sold it 2 years later, and the majority of our cars have been Chevs and Pontiacs. He knows what to expect from them and doesn't like surprises.

We had a Pontiac Grad AM once as a rental car. It was very comfortable.

@snowy22315 My husband drove 1 of those for a while. I used to refer to it as the grand ache because I have hurt my back getting out of it.
His Equinox is very comfortable, and my Impala was also.

I have had all kinds of cars over the years and I don't see the sense of paying more for a name. My last two cars have been KIA. Even though KIA is based in Seoul, South Korea my car was manufactured in Georgia, USA. The first car I had for 9 years and decided I wanted something new, never had any issues with it. This current car I have had for 9 years come July. Again, I am thinking about getting a new car sometime this year and I might just get another KIA.

@snowy22315 Like I say I have had 2 with no issues, they cost a lot less and have the nice 10year/100,000 warranty.

We buy foreign luxury cars and find them the best. However, hubs bought a Mazda last July due to its 5 star crash rating. It’s used just for an extra car for lugging and loaning to our other son if he ever needs it.
Right now we have a Mercedes SL AMG hard top convertible sports car, my baby, a large Lexus sedan, and a medium Lexus sedan besides the Mazda.

We have had both American and foreign, namely Toyota's. I will say the Toyota's we owned were made to last with little problems. Eventually we will have to trade and I'm not sure which way we will go, have to see what is available and in our price range.

Yes, last year the bill to get this car inspected was hefty..I am not expecting it this year...but if it costs as much as it did last year, I will sell..and get another.

I haven't really liked Ford since we had one in the late 80's that was a pain in the neck, although I am sure they are much better now.
