The under side of the pillow is always colder. And maybe this helps to boost the sleep

That was also my theory but what about during summer, the other side is not cold.

@amitkokiladitya gee, I didn't know that summer time is also cold there. Maybe you are sleeping with the open door of the refrigerator.

May be the bacteria that is on one side gets confused, and they stop bothering us when we have flipped. In summers, it is often the side that is less warm makes one comfortable.
In winters, it is the overall room setup and quality of quilts and blankets that matter.

You may have a point with the bacteria. I didn't think of that.

@marlina
You do it for a month, and record.
Send the detailed observations to @Alexandoy
who can use these observations for a thesis.

I flip my pillows all the time. Mostly it's because I get hot, and then when I flip my pillow, the other side feels much cooler.

As @vandana7 said, it is better to believe in the magic and not the science of it.

@porwest it's actually just a sort of superstition or myth but sometimes it works for me.

I did it when I couldn't sleep and it worked. What's the reason?

I don't know the real reason. But whether it is just psychological or not, what's good is that it often works for me.

If I want to wake up and rise, what I do is to flip the pillow by tossing it high on top of my face. When it falls on my face, for sure I would rise. Waheehee.

One of my kids often prepared her pillow very well before lying down. I often watched her nightly ritual & tried not to laugh. (Once she closed her eyes, she promptly slept. Really incredible.)

That kid of yours is surely the neatest among the brood. I like that kind of attitude towards personal things.

@YrNemo it's nice to have kids with different attitudes and behavior. We were like that when you were kids, 4 boys. Of course, I was the best among my siblings, waheehee, joke.
