Ash fall has reached my neighborhood

Philippines

I heard about something happened in the Taal Volcano , but I took it as some smoke coming out of it. What I didn't realize that not only it exploded but it's ashes reached our city and seen people wearing face mask. Speaking of face mask, it's good thing I had reserved a few because stores had ran out of it. This reminds me of Mt. Pinatubo explosion. But it's liquid and ash reach our place like a flood.
Here’s a video taken from the nearby municipality of Balete, Batangas as of 5 pm. Residents are bystanders are advised to move away from the lake. Full story...

Yeah I also hear from fb some has already seen ashes falling in their roofs already. I think Taal Is the nearer volcano in Metro Manila that is why it will be affected very fast.

@Letranknight2015 yeah the advise is that never throw the ashes out to the canal as it may harden and clog sewage

I remember when Mt St Helens erupted in Washington state back in 1980. It, too, just spewed ash and people were scooping it up and selling little containers of it...

I just read about this on a news site (I'm in the US) and came here to see if anyone from the Philippines had posted about it. It's a good thing you had the face masks! I hope no one is hurt by the eruption or the ash. I prefer to hear what people who are at the site of an event have to say rather than the news reports. I'm surprised there weren't more posts about it.

@Letranknight2015 Thanks. I heard that they had evacuated some areas but it's hard to know what's really going on when it isn't reported much.

@Letranknight2015 yes, that is true. even here with thin layers I need a lot of water. I am assuming you have thicker layers of ash there

I have read about this when I opened my Fb account this morning. My friends' husband posted a beautiful view of the Taal volcano and the sunset. He took the photos from their window as they only live 65 km. across the volcano. Thankfully, the sea is between them.

Hello @thelme55 Yeah were lucky that the sea is all around this volcano. This island formed from past multiple explosions in the past.
