Taal Volcano Eruption in the Philippines

January 13, 2020 6:02am CST
The eruption of Taal Volcano yesterday reminds me the 1991 eruption of Mount Pinatubo in Zambales, Philippines. The entire community surrounding the volcano was totally devastated. Filipinos were helping one another to rescue the residents.

I think Pinatubo eruption was far worst, I was fortunate to visit and tour the Spanish colonial era church of San Guillermo in Bacolor, Pampanga and the huge church was half buried in pyroclastic material that set in like concrete.

Some are allowed to go home by now, is it right? (those who live outside the 7km zone of the volcano.) Let hope the volcanic activity stops completely soon.
