Meet my new companion, Sydney

I adopted another dog in November, after I heard her story of how she was mistreated. I cried when I realized that she was treated so poorly so I took her out of that situation and I am glad I did.
She was kept in a cage, never walked, and starved as well. When the shelter got her, she was skin and bones, weighing just 6 pounds.
She is all filled out more, and she weighed ten pounds when I had her weighed. She looks so much better now, and she eats really well, and is also a treat stealer. I have to give her yeast to her first, otherwise, she will steal from the other two.
She has taken to them quite well, and she loves to play. She will play with my chihuahua mix, everyday, and it is cute to watch them.
I am glad I got her as I feel we were meant for each other. She is much happier now, as she knows I won’t lock her in a cage and leave her, as that is mean and cruel, and the people who do, have no business having animals whatsoever.
The picture of her was taken the day I adopted her. She looked so sad, and now she is a happy dog. She just turned nine in December. Her age never bothered me, as she deserves to have a good home too. In fact, all three dogs are senior dogs. Don’t ever be afraid to air older dogs, as they need lots of love too.

I not only like this but I love this. I love dogs. Thanks for taking her in and giving her a good home. I have 2 spoiled rotten long-haired Chihuahuas. They will be 9 years old next month and they are brothers from the same litter.
I bought one and my daughter bought one but she was not taking care of hers so I bought and rescued him from her and her uncaring husband. So glad she let me but it was not easy.
The poor dog was being so neglected. She had him about a month. I just had to get that poor baby from them. People who mistreat dogs are horrible people in my book.

@stephcjh I agree there. I have human kids, but they are all grown, and married with kids of their own, so I like to call the dogs my kids., s it makes it easier to core with them being around since my daughter lives in another state, and my son only lives 21 miles from me.

We are dog lovers too but not in the position to adopt. We already have 3 dogs.

I won’t adopt anymore at this point either, as three is all I can handle. Quite a challenge to walk them as their leashes get tangled up, as they continue to go from one side to the other, especially Sydney. She can’t walk to long because of her skinny legs, so I do carry her some to rest them, and then she can walk a little more.

@Alexandoy That is the same with my Sydney as she can’t walk long distances. I feel sorry for her, but her legs will always be that way from what the vet said. I realize that she might have to be carried, and when she gets tired.i will pick her up to rest her legs, so she can go on a bit longer.

@rosekiss Sydney is like our 12-year old spitz named Tisoy. He has deformed legs since he was a puppy. He is still doing fine but he has difficulty in climbing stairs and walking long distances. Sometimes we carry him.

@whiteream I am sure you did. We can only do so much, but as long we take care of their daily needs and not be abusive, then they soon realize that they have a good home and are happy once again.

@rosekiss I totally agree with you. Bella is my thrid older dog and I loved everyone of them. They brought much love and joy into my life and that got it back. They other two dogs passed with smiles on their faces. So, I know, I did good by them.

I was reading an article earlier today about adopted dogs. This post reminded me about that. I’m sharing the link below in case you would like to check it out. It was about a man who adopted aging pets.

God bless him, but 21 dogs is way to many for anyone. The cost of food alone would be astronomical. I pay enough with just my three dogs, but I love them, and as long as I can, I will be here for them, and provide for them.

I love animals, and it really breaks my heart when they are mistreated. It makes no sense, as they don’t deserve what they get from some. I never abuse animals, so therefore they don’t have to worry about being mistreated and put in a cage, as that is just to cruel. Mine are free to roam the house and lay where they want.

@changjiangzhibin89 Yes she has, as she is much happier now. Much happier than when I got her, as she looked so sad, but now she jumps up and down for joy.

I just couldn’t leave her as who knows how long she would have had to be at the shelter. That is certainly no life either.

I certainly don’t, as she has been a great companion along with the other 2 dogs. They all get along great together, which makes my life much easier.

I think so too. She want given a good life before, and by surrendering her to the shelter, that person did what was best for her. She just turned nine in December, and I want to make sure her quality of life is much better than what she had before.
