My parrot passed away this morning. I have no idea what happened. She was talking and acting normally earlier today and then she was gone when I went in to feed her.
My ex came over to comfort me and to pick up her little bird body. He is going to bury her in the back yard at the house next to my cat Sandy.
How ironic that I just got a new cat on Friday night and I was technically breaking the rules since I am only allowed to have 2 pets here. Now I am back down to 2 pets.

I am so sorry you must be heartbroken. I read when I had my parrots that cats have a toxin in their bodies that kills parrots. It said if they scratch the bird or even drink from the same water dish it will kill the parrot. That was one of many reasons I didn’t keep the kittens I found in a cemetery over the summer when I still had my one parrot.

@NJChicaa my boyfriend had said he didn’t believe the article when I told him about it. Who knows what to believe with all the crap online.
You can take comfort in knowing she had a happy life with you even if it turned out to be shorter then expected. I’m glad your husband came over to bury her and be there for you.

What a shock. One minute the bird was scamp with her escapes and now gone. That is so sad.
