That time my neighbor shot a man.

United States
January 21, 2020 7:08am CST
I never imagined that my neighbor could be capable of this. Yeah, sure, I had been the one to call the cops, but I thought the worst the man could do was yell at the police officer. I wasn't prepared to watch as the man took a gun and shot the cop point blank. The poor officer didn't even have time to react. I watched as the officer clutched at his stomach, looking up at my neighbor before falling to the ground. I could hear faint grunting noises, but I didn't dare look at the cop. My neighbor was staring straight at my front door, almost as if he knew that I was currently standing behind it, surreptitiously watching the scene unfold. I shivered, the intense look in the man's eyes unnerving me. I was too afraid to move, too afraid to do anything even as I watched the man walk back into his home and shut the door. --- Then I woke up (but not before a lot more stuff happened both before and after this scene).

In the dream, I was the man's current girlfriend, though his wife still lived with him. It was terrifying.

I was riveted to this story until I found out that it was a dream. Wow! It would be horrible if it really happened. A while back, the cops shot a man down the street from me. There was a big news conference on the corner, three houses from me. There were helicopters flying over and yellow tape everywhere.

I bet that created a bit of an excitement for the neighborhood during that time. I am glad that this was just a dream.

@akalinus I know that time wasn't a dream. I was referring to my own dream, and being glad that it was just a dream. There was a night club not too far from here. I heard the shots one night, and my friend who worked basically right behind it, heard it too. I texted her immediately to ask if she was okay because I didn't know where it had come from.

@ScribbledAdNauseum That time was not a dream. I heard the shotgun blasts and missed the pistol shots. I hope nothing like that ever happens again here.

What a story! So glad it was just a dream :) In many places this is a cruel reality. I unfortunately have seen someone get shot. I felt devastated.

Yes, unfortunately these things happen and far too frequently. I am sorry you had to witness someone getting shot. I am sure it is something that never leaves you, the fear and the sorrow that you felt during that time.

@ScribbledAdNauseum The guy who got shot was a neighbor. It was sad to see him die. I had never seen such scene even when in Mexico and in my state in particular, violence has reached an unimaginable level. I did cry a lot that night.

@Tina30219 I used to live right next to a cop, and in this dream it was as if I was living there again... That would have made the man who shot the cop, a cop himself...

I thought for a second that the end of the dream would be your neighbour taking aim at you and you open your eyes even before you hear the sho.

You would think so, wouldn't you? I wasn't really scared in the dream, more winded. I was constantly running in this dream.

There was so much more to it that was just as scary, if not scarier. I am so glad it was just a dream. The place that I was at in my dreamland reminded me of a place I actually did live at one time. Except my neighbor was a cop.

What a bad dream. Next time when you dream, you will be standing on the witness stand to tell the truth and nothing by the truth to give justice to the victim, the police officer.

Omg. I really pray he don’t doubt that you called the cops. Are you living with your family? So no one is going to arrest that man who is out open? This is so scary. I never seen anyone shooting anyone. Wait what? I thought this was for real
