I am giving report abuse to any of those who respond to my discussions with yes,no,maybe ..or any other 1 or 2 words responses from now on...i am not accepting anyone as a friend unless they really have a good reason for choosing me as a friend,and not just to make the list bigger...i am also giving report abuse to all of the discussions that violate mylot's rules..i will 'be his eyes here'...as mylot asked us to do,in their guidelness,but it seems that some people don't even bother to read the rules!!!!..i hope by this i will keep away those who don't give a damn about this site,and bring back to life the old mylot,when everybody was happy

This is a great idea. I'm pretty new here and am getting quite discouraged that I can't find good discussions anywhere. When I post something that is of interest to me, that I would like to see answers or other views to, I don't get hardly any responses.....mainly because it disappears from view so fast with stupid topics coming afterwards...at least that's what I'm hoping is the reason. ;)
However, I have one question:
When you say you won't accept friends, unless there is a good reason, how do you get that reason across to the person you would like to befriend? You can't message someone unless they are your friend to explain why you would like to add them as a friend.
I find I keep responding to the same posters, so maybe that's how you decide? If you notice them responding, then see a friend request come through you will accept?
Oh, dear, I'm rambling. It's midnight, I need sleep!

i used to add everybody,and now i deleted most of them...from now on i always check out their discussion before accepting them as friends...no more inactive people in my list

A few ideas: if I like a person's comments, etc. Iadd them as a friend, and sign up to get emailed if they post a new topic. Also you can have Mylot display discussions by your friends, and discussions that your friends have replied to. So I use "friend" to keep track of like-minded people whose comments I like to read.

I am really glad that you posted this. I am still new here and it seems like I see so many ridiculous things happening in discussions. Like people copying and pasting responses, people posting answers that don't have anything to do with the discussion and I have seen a couple people just trying to stir waters about religion. I think if you are going to ask a serious question, you should understand that not everyone agrees with you, or believes in the same thing. I will do my best to help you out by reporting things I see that aren't right! :)

thasnk you..now i am also happy because mylot has a new feature that will decrease the rating and earning of those who post silly topics,or responses...i hope this will make them understand...and you are right..what i hate most is the copy pasters

I will admit that sometimes I just say "thanks for sharing" or something 'short but sweet' because I don't want to offend someone by not responding at all. I give out negatives to the people starting yes or no discussions and giving replies that aren't relevant to the discussion too. MyLot requested that we do so but I'm not sure what effect it will have? Maybe after so many accumulative negatives they will delete a discussion all together?

i do reply to those who answered to my topics,and i don't say i always write big texts..but i was talking about who respond to a discussion with one or 2 words...or even those who say 'thank for your response' and they copy paste it after every response they got..that makes people think they don't even read what they wrote..cause they never comment,they never make the discussion go on..they just say thanks..

SOME PEOPLE DONT RESPOND WITH THAT GOOD OF A MESSAGE TO SAY ANYTHING BUT.... BEFORE YOU GO TURING PEOPLE IN YOU BETTER HAVE ALOT AGAINST THEM NOT JUST PETTI STUFF.. PLUS WHAT YOU SEE AS ABUSE THE MYLOT OWNERS MIGHT SEE AS PUBLICITY.. AS THAT IF IT GET PEOPLES ATTENTING TO THERE SITE MORE THEY WILL KEEP IT.. IT NOT LIKE THEY GIVE AWAY THAT MUCH MONEY TO ANY CERTAIN PERSON THAT YOU HAVE TO TAKE THIS SO PERSONAL.. I love you so much, that's really brave.
Back in the summer I loved to be here, learning things on topics I would never have thought about. I eventually trailed away because I was getting fed up and now I'm back - a little anyway - I can really see how much it's changed here.
I hope your crusade works, although sometimes I give a short reply to thank someone for their comment, not for the money - I was never here for that, just to be polite.

I'm already on this mission when I joined myLot. I read and understood myLot guidelines perfectly. I also give a report abuse to each and every discussions. I want myLot to takeover Yahoo! answers. Yahoo! answers is so Organized and Discipline. But it doesn't give any money for posting. It gives only points. So I love myLot and wanna improve it. I wanna myLot to be very much organized. They have put an interest page, but very less people use it. myLot must follow Yahoo! answers and go beyond them.

You go, girl! It's a tough job, but someone has to do it, right? I've been giving negatives to people who respond with a one-word answer or post something totally unrelated to the discussion. And I see that someone responded on here by copying and pasting YOUR OWN WORDS! That is just plain stupid as far as I'm concerned.

I haven't yet reported any abuse (but I will now) but I have refused or deleted 'friends' because their discussions are not alluring or I feel they are not interesting enough with not much to offer.

you don't really seem to get the point...it has become hard to ignore the people who post meaningless discussions and don't even bother to read or think before they post a response,and that is because these people took over the site....now nobody interracts anymore,the discussions have no continuousy..it has become a yes or no contest...and it's not only that it bothers the 'working' invlolved members here but it also VIOLATES mylot rules,this is what people don't understand ...for example the question 'HOW OLD ARE YOU' is give as an example from mylot at the dont's section....and they also specified that answers such as yes or no will be deleted so what more proof do people want that they are wrong???????

I can see your point but you just ignore them fools. Im not here to make money I have a perfectly well paid job. I have just gone through a few post and feel there are a few people that need a reality check. I'm just interested to learn how this all works and what the pull is. there seems to be quite a few people on here perhaps to many for the servers to cope with.

I completely agree with you. It drives me crazy when people respond with one letter responses. I try to get them to elaborate on their answers and they respond again with one word. What in the heck is that! I am going to start doing that too! If we put our foot down with that, then the people that are giving a real effort here will be benefited! By the way, I don't think we can say the "d" word! hehe I feel like a little kid saying that!

You are saying it publicly. I am doing it quitely. I hate to see people writing nope, yes, I agree, I donot agree, I donot know, I am, I will, YSSSSSSSSS,
NOOOOOOOOOOOO. These people are only trying to increase their rating thinking that they are earning more. In fact the algorithm of mylot automatically deletes the points for such responses. Thanks for the support.

I won't go as far as reporting them..it would take too much time to do that.....i will give those people posting dumb things or one word answers a - . I read the mylot guidelines and it seems like many people haven't......people wondering why mylot does this or that should read the guidelines before they start posting stuff!

I am with you. I have already reported a few discussions because they dont meet mylots guidelines at all. I am also tired of the yes or no answers on my discussions and I plan on making a note from now on that if you are going to respond with a yes or no answer you will be reported because of the mylot guidelines.

It's correct to give report abuse for the discussions that violate mylot's rules but for the too smaller response that someone gives I think that people who work for mylot control alredy and they assign a different erning according to the response that they write
