Most people know who the Carpenters were. "Karen Carpenter" is the only solo album she recorded during her lifetime. She died much too soon at the age of 32 due to complications relating to anorexia. I like listening to the Carpenters. No one these days sounds like them. I like song #9 on that CD. I used to think the same about Amy Winehouse, but later I notice she kind of sound or look like lady gaga or maybe it's just me
