Using a mask ! culture or a must?

Hello , do you know japan is the number one country who use masks! at school , at work , outside anywhere they like to use it.. i asked my students about reason! the answers were interesting! we all think that they use it for health! or beware of sickness but some of them use it for other reasons.. for example the funniest reason was ; one kid said that he is a shy girl and she feels better when she hide her face! in japan you can easily see masks outside and inside how about your country ? do people like it? do you use a mask? what is the reason that you use it?

The only time that people are allowed to wear masks in the Carnival season in Louisiana.

i see, yes patients in the hospital wear it , but here almost 20 percent of people like to wear..

People rarely wear masks here except when they are riding motorbikes or at the airport.

It's allowed in my country except in some traditional ceremonies.
