Good evening. For dinner or supper we had steam mussels.
With salad.Have not had them for a while.Mike does not care for them but manage to eat some.Very easy to cook.Only two minutes to five.
Do not over cook them.Which Mike did. From old school.they tend to over cook most food.Have you ever try them?
The photo is our mussels that Mike cooked.
The photo is mine and our mussels.
Have a good night.see you tomorrow

I miss steamed mussels. It's been a long time since we had that because of the usual warning on red tide. It is some kind of poison in the sea that can make the shellfish poisonous too.

@amadeo oh, imported from Canada. I have seen a documentary about mussels that the best are from the frigid zone where the waters are very cold and icy.

I love mussels. They are quite cheap here, but they donĀ“t always have them at my supermarket. I usually buy about a kilo and eat as much as I can with homemade mayo with plenty of lemon. The rest I freeze in its water (there is always some water there) to use for a mussels risotto.

I do not like fiddling with food so never bother to have them. If they were all deshelled for me then perhaps I would eat them. Glad you enjoyed them!

Does not sound good to me but I may be trying scallops as I discovered we sell some for just three dollars a package for six of them in beds of what looks like oyster shells.
Also, I've never wanted sushi even after my kids tried it and recently I've though about trying that too so maybe in the future I'd try your cuisine just not today.

Haven't tried that with salad, I normally would cook that kind of mussel by sauteing in garlic and ginger. Sometimes I add more water. They can be good soup.
