Happy New Year
I know I’m late but better to be late than never!!
So how is everyone hoping you have a wonderful 2020 although the first month is almost over, once again time travelling way too fast to even think about.
Any plans for the year?
I guess I will go with the flow of things although I would like to do a few things this year. You all know, that know me from here that I have an Etsy store but over the last year and also looking at it more closely their fees are now becoming too high!! I have my website and would like to see more sells from there and some point maybe move away from Etsy altogether.
I have seen a small rise in sales on my site which is super news, no Etsy’s fees YAY I'm currently adding more items in my site and I have started to do a “Giveaway” each month, hopefully, increase not only people coming to the site but sales. This month it’s phone sock which is my best-selling items on Etsy with over 80 sold so far.
I think what will be my main goal for 2020, what about you, goals or plans for 2020?

That’s to bad Etsy is charging so much fees. That’s why I quit eBay years ago.
That’s neat you make a phone sock and that it’s your best cellar. I would not have expected that.
Very cool your doing monthly giveaways.
P.S. so happy to see a new post of yours drop by again soon.

Yeah, I have seen many people going on about in the forms, shame really because Etsy is good. I guess many people start their business there and some then move on once they get known.

@kevin1877uk Many do not know how to create a site, I have seen that your site is very well designed. Did you do everything yourself?

Thank you, many people have been on about it but I didn't realise how much until I had a few sales on my own site and saw the difference. So I would hope to move a little bit away from Etsy, although Etsy been good, it's just their fees.

happy (late) new year! your giveaway idea is great
One of my 2020 goals is to start an online shop, be it Etsy or elsewhere. Seeing as you've already started one, do you have any tips? I'm pretty clueless, I just know I want to sell my art.

Thank you, Etsy is good to start your business off, this plenty of support from members.
When I started on Etsy some 5 years ago I was like you clueless of what to do. Good photos of your items, a good description. Have a look around at what other people are selling like yours, this will give you a good idea.
It took me some time to find my market, some people were saying you need at least a 100 items in your store than others were saying you need 200. I did many to get to 200 items but the last year 18 months I've narrowed it down to what sells and have around 30 items in my store and have been busier than ever. But I think you need a fair amount of items in your store to get noticed. If you have only a few then it hard, once you are known and have a good track record you can have fewer items. have more orders
Etsy is good and it works well, I will remain with Etsy because it does bring in the cash however I would like to push my website and more sells there. I thinking of not putting any new items in my Etsy store and only can be bought in my site.
I wish you all the Etsy when or if you do start with Etsy, take a look at my store, there is a link to my site (entre the Giveaway while you are there ) in my profile and there is a link to my Etsy store from there.

Well, this is a late response--so, "Happy New Year" ! Love the "phone cozy".
I have never done well on Etsy myself--I'm not able to make that much product-wise and I rarely sell. I know there are other "Etsy" like things out there I may try one day.
Now that it's a New Year, I am getting back to my numerous projects -- cross stitching, rock painting, etc.
