I am sure all of us are aware of what is happening in Wuhan, China! It's the CORONAVIRUS - - killing more than a hundred Chinese! Scary!
Either snakes or bats seem to be the source of this particular virus!
I don't know if anyone of you had seen the picture of a young Chinese woman eating a cooked (whole) bat in the internet. Yuk! I wish I could post the picture here. Anyway, I posted a picture of a bat, similar to what that young Chinese lady is shown eating with gusto.
Wanna take a bite? Whew!

My friend shared something similar on FB . . . I saw a soup bowl with bats hanging off the side - like a garnish ? Maybe it is common to eat these creatures over there . . . but definitely not here . . . so you sure won't see me eating them.

@antonbunot We have parakeets in our house, they are cute, but I won't eat them . Bats have cute faces (well some of them) - kinda like rats. I won't eat bats or rats! Yes I am cute .

Chinese food is closely related to Chinese traditional medicine, they had a very long history of looking for the elixer of life since the time of the earliest Emperors, their search lead them to discover so many wild and exotic plants and animals to eat , no they did not discover the elixer of life but the found new medicines and new recipes.
What might seem gross to us would be very normal in their culture, also we must remember that China is a large country, what's natural to some Chinese might also be gross to Chinese from another region. It's the same feeling I get when I hear about dog and rat eating Filipinos in other provinces which is not only ewww but really appalling.

Bat meats may be a delicacy in some places in China. . . but for sure not a sort of medicine. Just like in Northern Philippines . . frog legs is a delicacy.

@antonbunot The Philippines is heavily influenced by Chinese cuisine, I once went to a Southern province that also ate bats called locally as " kabog " I can tolerate frogs legs, think it's a French delicacy, I had also eaten insects in a Norrthern province. What I can't tolerate are people eating mammals from the rodent, feline and canine species as well as bats.

I think on church last Sunday it showed a video of a man eating a rat or a bat I'm not sure. Will it cure them?

I think bat meat, rat meat, and a particular kind of bird nests are delicacies in China and other southeast countries.

@resukill22 when we were in Kelowna, British Columbia, a Filipino restaurant served us fried frog legs. Good! But there is no way I will ever eat fried bats.

These people who ate bats that caused the virus in the first place, if they had survived, whished they'd be put to jail for the trouble they have caused.

I love bats, but to eat one, noooo. They carry so many diseases so why would anyone even go there?
