No more face mask

The attendant in the drug store said that face mask is not available because there was a rush to buy in bulk for the benefit of the volcano eruption victims. Now it is clear that the shortage of face mask is not due to the panic in the virus issue. Anyway, the face mask may be available tomorrow, they said.

The shortage started way back whan we have had Taal volcano erupting. And now the panic is setting in on the impending corona virus detection in our place. Although there is no confirmed local infection yet people are already starting to buy masks again to ensure they won’t get some rogue virus silently transferring from one person to another.

That is true that when the ash fall occurred, the face mask had already a shortage. From what I heard there were some enterprising people who hoarded the face mask to sell at a higher price.

The Filipinos are now indeed panicking, all wanting to buy face masks. It is because of 2 reasons: some for the ash fall but mostly is because of the ncov virus. Even here, all stores ran out of the face masks. Although, i only see a few person wearing a face mask here in our place.

@Alexandoy Yes, it isn't yet. Besides , we are now aware how to manage it. DOH sent a personnel to talk about it during our townhall metting at the office.

@SIMPLYD as of the evening news a while ago, the health department said that there is only 1 confirmed contaminated patient. The potential patients are in quarantine. So far, so good.

Admittedly the shortage was previously caused by the ashfall. But now it is due to the panic on the virus. We don't use face mask yet, not yet, not now. The situation is not alarming yet.

I think everyone is panic buying, especially now with this Coronavirus escalating. I hope that manufacturers are coping with the demand.

@Lushlala they are now seeing the real problem that the virus may not show symptoms for 14 days but it is already communicable.

The manufacturer cannot cope with the demand until now because I think there are hoarders of the product.

Frankly, we are not yet in the panic mode. That is just a preparation just in case we hit to press the panic button. And what if the face mask is not available anywhere? I don't want to use the bra for a face mask. Waheehee.

That's right, why wear a face mask when you are at home. That is silly unless you suspect someone in your home that is contaminated, waheehee.
