Denver, Colorado. 5:18am. 17°. Busy day ahead of me, which will include hitting a record store if I can squeeze it in. If I can't, I'll be there bright and early tomorrow. In the meantime, last week I scored, used and in great condition, Wishes, the 1987 album by Jon Butcher. For four bucks!
Although he had retained the members of his band, The Jon Butcher Axis, Wishes was the first Jon Butcher record released without the Axis moniker. It is, thus far (and more than likely, will remain so, as Butcher still tours, but focuses heavily on film and television scores,) the guitarist's most successful release, reaching #77 on the Billboard 200.
Wishes spawned three singles: the Middle Eastern-tinged arena rocker, "Holy War," the video for which was a regular MTV offering, the title track, and "Goodbye Saving Grace" (#25 and #7, respectively, on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.)
I owned this on cassette. Bought it when it first came out, in fact. And now, it's an early addition to my vinyl collection!

I remember “Goodbye Saving Grace” on MTV. I always felt sorry for him getting that “next Jimi Hendrix” tag, it’s like all the folk-rockers who got labeled “the next Dylan.”

The guy to really feel badly for is the poor kid that someday gets tagged as "The Next Bieber."

Such a deal especially when getting an album by someone you like.

Especially considering what great condition it's in.
