You Just Can’t Go Home Again

I have been writing and writing and then looking for more writing until my eyes feel crossed. I was listening to YouTube while I was working and this song “You Just Can’t Go Home Again” by David Cassidy came on. Now it got me to thinking after in one day I wrote over 4,200 words that were part of ten articles and I could no longer think at all. I t made me realize that one of my major goals is not to only land that ideal writing job that will greatly increase my income but to also be able to have enough money to at least visit my hometown New York City.
Cassidy sings about returning to a small hometown where you know everyone and where great changes really make it seem like you just can’t return because nothing will ever be the same. However, in my case, I know NYC is always changing and it becomes a challenge after a while. That is different and I know that the places I long to see are still there I can still walk down the block I was born and raised on. I also know that in my mind there will be a thousand films reeling because I also took my soul mate to my hometown a long time ago.
So I do love this song and the plaintiff words but folks, I am bound and determined to walk on the streets of Broadway one more time in my life. What do you think? Perhaps I should get an extra-large hat and place it on the sidewalk and then dance down Broadway. That should get to all the New Yorkers and to the tourists. Perhaps that might become my claim to fame.
Help get David Cassidy inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Please sign the petition below! Thanks! http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/induct-david-c...

Funny you should speak of this issue Sandra as I have been not only wanting to visit my home but to live there once again. I wish you could go see NY..I would love to go with you. I did live in upstate NY for a time but the streets of Broadway must be so exciting.

The last time I was in New York City after 3 days I said 'no more' and that was in 1985. It is not 'my' city anymore!

@GreatMartin I left NYC in 1994 but my late husband and I visited in 1998 and 1999. That was the last time. And then, of course, the towers fell and the sh---t hit the fan. I have not been there since.

I will be visiting New York later on in my later years, just to see the sights and go to the museums and moreover, see ground zero where it all happened in 2001. And of course, try one of those fancy hot dogs I hear so much about.
