To be Happy or To Be Right?

They always say, "Do what makes you happy", or "Do what is right". But what if at some point they tend to contradict each other? I'm always torn between the two. Which should be more prioritized?

In my experience, I've often done things because I thought they were right even if they did not make me happy. Whether it was the right thing to do, I don't know. Now, I tend to prioritise the things that make me happy because I spent so many years doing what everything in the best interests of other people. As long as you are not doing anything 'wrong' and you are meeting the needs that you need to meet, I would prioritise doing what makes you happy.

My advice is do what is right and not what makes you happy.but it differs with person to person.

This really depends on the situation that you are in with. If you are stuck in a situation that depends on responsibilities and that if people are relying on you to have a better outcome in life, then i rather go to doing what is right regardless if people might seem to think that i am not doing the stuff that makes me happy. Eventually, it will just ripple on the fruits of your labor and you can be happy when you see that what you sacrificed was right and helped the many. Hope it make sense lol. Thanks for your post!

What a great question because we all want to be happy. I am at the point in my life where I choose happiness. I do feel that usually when you choose happiness, you will also choose what's right.
