Which Groundhog To Believe

Today on the 2nd of February here in North America it is Groundhog Day where local groundhogs wake up and come out of their den to see if they see their shadow to predict how much longer winter is going to be.. One of the most famous Punxsutawney Phil along with another Phil and two others predict a early spring while General B Lee, Jimmy of Wisconsin (which should make Valarie happy) along with Sir Walter Wally and a couple of others say there will be 6 more weeks or more of winter. So which groundhog prediction are you rooting for? Sorry General Lee the Georgia groundhog I have to root for the Phils prediction as I am tired of the the back and forth winter we have here and would like to see it warm up as the damp cold feels so much colder than the dry cold you have up north. Now to turn the heat up a little and take a really arm shower to get the chill out of these bones.

Mary, this is Florida we live in. No matter which prediction comes true, we are going to have see-saw weather from now all the way through the spring.

I know that. From late October to sometime around Easter you dont know what season to sometimes dress for

@Elizaby There are days in there where we get all four seasons in the same day!

@moffittjc I am glad that we have nothing like this, because a groundhog that would predict early spring in Greece would be good there, but surely not for Norway, even if both nations are in Europe.

This seems a very fun thing to argue about - which groundhog is going to be right.

It doesn't much matter, spring arrives next month officially. I never put any stock into what the rodent says.

I don't either from what I hear they often flip a coin to decide what the groundhog is going to"predict"

Definitely in favor of the more favorable prediction.

I’m hoping that my kids up north have an early spring, although they’re having a mild winter so far just as the Farmers Almanac predicted. Being in South Florida, I don’t give a hoot. It’s been fabulous!

With the temperate weather we have been having, I vote that we're going to have an early spring.

As the weather is very different from State to State you can only predict one that is close to your location.

Interesting information. I only knew of one groundhog. I'll take six more weeks of winter.

@Elizaby I do not live in the States anymore so it does not apply to me what the groundhog says. I love the top hat on him in the picture for this post.
