My husband is a hoarder of laundry soap...

Everytime we go to the mall, my husband buys a ten-kilo pack pf Tide powder soap and I cannot understand why he does it. A three-kilo pack of it lasts for 6 months to me but a ten-kilo pack only lasts for a month to him. And he only washes a few pieces of his clothes everyday as in 5 or pieces only. I wash a basketful of dirty clothes and our bedsheets and pillow cases and i do it once a week. Now, he has 20 kilos of soap, still untouched. And he still has 2 packs of another brand (from SNR) and each pack weighs 5 kilos.Maybe when we will shop next time, he will buy again another one. Are you a hoarder of a particular thing?

Oh you should ask him why the need to hoard this thing. It must have something to do with his past experience about laundry detergent that makes him act like that. At times it may be an unconscious act on his part that he does it and only needs to be reminded that he does not need it yet since he has a lot at home still.

@Janet357 ok that answers it all they have the history of being one. I do not know how to approach such behavior since I know it has psychological issues that needs to be addressed.

to be honest, his mom is also a hoarder. when we were newly weds, my husband would buy soy sauce, frying oil in huge gallons. and all foods he liked to hoard. but i got angry because they just expired. since then, he has only hoarded laundry soap.

I am not a hoarder, my husband loves soap bars, I cannot say how many there are in the bathroom.

@Janet357 Less than soap bars, but there are at least 20 bottles of shampoos.

that's too much. don't you find the smell overpowering? wouldn't washing just 5 pcs daily mean a high water bill?

Oh! That's too much of soap. You should not buy it for another few months. I don't hoard anything. I believe in minimalism.

@Janet357 I agree. I adopted it some ten years back. I find a lot of spiritual growth in me since then. And definitely a lot of peace of mind.
