There are 361 dead and 17,205 contaminated. Now this is alarming to me because the number keeps on growing. Yesterday it was only 14,000 confirmed contamination. But I won't use a face mask for now, I am reserving it for the worst of the times. What do you think?

The number of contaminated people is what alarms me. It is growing fast which means the spreading is not controlled yet.

@Alexandoy they are still controlling that virus. This day there's Hongkong travel ban. Let's not be afraid . God is always watching us people from Philippines being a Christian country, honoring and loving God our only Saviour.

The number is only in China. I got that from the Philippine Inquirer today so that is almost factual.

@rakski, it's almost worldwide except middle East specifically in Saudi Arabia. Virus like nCOV can't survive in a very hot climate. That virus cannot also stay for so long in a tropical country like ours. We also have extreme temperature. China is a very cold country, the reason why deadly virus like Sars also originated from their country , except the Ebola virus which originated in North Africa the coldest. Let's hope God to bless and protect His children in Philippines and other countries in the world.

Washing the hands often and hand sanitizers for now but I wear a mask when going to places where there are large concentration of people that I seldom do now. I have n95 masks and I ordered non-disposable n95 respirators which I am waiting for to arrive in case situation in our country gets out of hand.

@Alexandoy here is a good short video that would help explain a lot of things, hope you watch it from beginning to end. Yes I'm also ignorant although I have a medically related course BS but situations like this virus necessitates that we learn and learn it fast, I'm forced to reeducate myself
What style and rating of mask / respirator should you get if you are looking to protect against coronavirus? ? Become a channel member for exclusive features...

@louievill thank you for the information. I have to admit that I am ignorant of the face mask because I have used it only once when I went to visit a relative in the hospital. I am keeping that face mask as a souvenir but I haven't really checked it.

Been out for two days without a mask now. In China, though, there were around 300+ who were discharged.

Even here, the latest from the health department are 24 of the 36 under observation have been cleared of the virus. But I know being cleared is not the same as being cured or getting healed.

Is it a problem in your country? They say its here also but has not hit out west from what I have seen. These times with over population and climate change. Scientists say this is more or less going to be common.

@crossbones27 some people here are easily scared. I was surprised to see children playing in the street this morning, the 3 of them were wearing face masks. Come on, that is a fashion now.

You are right with the lockdown. But countries are getting their citizens from Wuhan. That includes the Philippines. Japan brought home 460 Japanese from Wuhan. 3 were contaminated. It's like they are bringing in the virus with that action.

@Alexandoy that's the duty of every nation's people to help and protect. There are almost a hundred in one city in China , I think Hubei , Pinoys already healed and they're schedule to fly to their Homeland. Let's pray so hard this time. This virus attack almost worldwide.

@Nakitakona we are talking of the generic face mask. Ordinary people like me do not understand the surgical from the n95.

@Alexandoy I think it's a different ask used by the Taal residents. It's N95 mask for respiratory not a surgical face mask.
