Just a friendly advice

One conversation in a forum: A – Do you know that Papa catsup was owned by my father’s uncle? Papa is my father’s middle name. B – I don’t think so. It is a Filipina who invented banana catsup and….. A – Did I say my great uncle invented the banana catsup? B – Nope but it’s not neither owned by your great uncle. Papa is a nomenclature to boost sales. It was obvious that A was citing his family history while B was just getting information from Google. Just a friendly advice – never assume that what you get in your internet search is accurate. Just a friendly advice.

It is silly to argue using information from the internet search that you don't know if it is true or accurate.

@marlina I agree with you because we have the freedom to choose and sometimes we are reckless in believing something that may not be true.

Yes, that is the point here. Using the searched information for argument is not good unless you are sure of what you are talking about.

In this time of prevalent fake news, it is best to be careful with the information that we get online.

@Alexandoy We have daily encounters with fake news. Our country has a lot of troll farms that shamelessly pass off fake news as the truth.

About 75% of what you read is accurate. The other 25% is not accurate. Probably just made up.

More likely the 25% is broken down between invented information and inaccurate information. In the example above, B was quoting from the internet search not knowing that it lacked information. That made him look stupid to me.

Either way, wherever this is going, I just have to put my two cents in that banana catsup sounds absolutely disgusting no matter who invented it.

@porwest you are right. The banana is good with fried chicken while tomato is good with egg.

Some are false and some are not accurate so it is better to be discerning.
