Kirk Douglas has passed away at age 103. He was an actor and starred in many movies.
Too many to list. The first one that come to mind is Spartacus.
He leaves behind a wife of 66 years and four sons.
So sad but he seemed to have lived a full life.
Kirk Douglas, Actor: Spartacus. Cleft-chinned, steely-eyed and virile star of international cinema who rose from being "the ragman's son" (the name of his best-selling 1988 autobiography) to become a bona fide superstar, Kirk Douglas, also known as Issur D

Yes I was sad to hear this. He was a great favourite of my mum and what a great age he lived to.

Long life that's for sure. I think he will always be know for Spartacus. I read his autobiography the Ragman's Son. It was good, but I don't remember how he got into acting.

Sad news indeed but what a remarkable man he was. It is bizarre how alike he, his son and grandson all look so much alike. They are a very handsome family. 103 is a good age. I think he will be remembered for many years to come yet!

@stbrians His certainly will and not just because of his films but because of his generosity to others! He has given much time and money to useful causes.

The one role I will cherish from the late Kirk Douglas was when he played the outlaw "Cactus" Jack Slade in the movie that starred Ann Margaret, the late Paul Lynde and Arnold Schwarzenegger as "Handsome Stranger."

@CarolDM I believe that the director of "The Villain" was also directed "Smokey And The Bandit" Hal Needham.

I will miss that cheeky grin of his and that lovely double cleft chin there is really no one like him and the film I like where he triumphs in Spartacus but not what they did to him and poor Tony Curtis in there.

He was Spartacus! What a terrific career he had, as well as a good long life. May his family find solace and peace in this difficult time.
