When I was little (before I went into foster care) my biological dad used to sing "Baby Blues" to me every time I went to bed or when I was sick. One day I asked him if he remembered how he used to sing it to me and his response was "I was drunk a lot when you were little so I don't remember that song or much of anything before they took you". Because of his statement, every time I hear that song I cry.

Oh I'm so sorry. I hope you have other good memories you can draw strength from.

@Honesmama84 I would daydream of situations I'm happy about. Helps me cope.

I have PTSD so I don't remember a lot from my past. The one good thing I remember he turned it into a painful realization

Oh my God! I'm so sorry. I can't imagine how anyone could be so callous as to destroy a childhood memory like that. Even if I hadn't a clue what my kids were talking about I would go along with it just so I wasn't destroying something that was obviously such a fond memory. Some people really don't deserve the gift that is their children.

@Honesmama84 I found 2 pretty hard going. I seem to recall spending at least 5 or 6 years where my backside just didn't touch the sofa!

My dad has 19 kids, he walked out on all of them except his newest who is now a year old. I'm not the least surprised he'd destroy a memory.
