Culture Club is an English pop group that was formed in 1981 by Boy George, the lead singer. Boy George's androgynous (both male and female) way of dressing caught the attention of the public; and the group has sold more than 150 million records worldwide.
The name Culture Club was chosen because of the diversity of the group, The lead singer is a gay Irishman, there is a black Englishman on bass, a blond Englishman on guitar and keyboards and a Jewish drummer.
