Our Son’s In-laws are Idiots!

Right now they are in Myanmar doing as the Romans do. They are wearing masks, which I know won’t do much to protect them from the coronavirus that is running rampant.
They will be doing more traveling while on vacation.
Last year at this time, our son’s father-in-law suffered a heart attack somewhere in the Serengeti in Africa while on safari, then a stroke in a hospital in Nairobi. He’s been healthy and well since.
However, the entire family thinks they are both idiots!

Not to sound mean, but how can he be healthy and well after suffering a heart attack and stroke in Africa? Those two things had to take some kind of toll on his body!
I'm not sure I'd be up for world travel right now until such time as they got this coronavirus under control. No sense making it any easier for the virus to get you!

@DianneN The question is, will they be allowed back in the US if they end up in some country that the US has put on a watch list, or banned list?

@moffittjc It depends.
All I know is that I don’t want them near my son or grandkids for a good two weeks.

No, I don't think that's very bright either. If I knew of a family member or friend who was in an infected area, there would be no homecoming parties for them if they decided to return back.
We'd have to face time or skype because I would not allow them to be near me. Anyway, I'm glad that you son's father-in-law is doing better.

@DianneN If people aren't going to be quarantined for a dreaded, serious illness, I just may be quarantining myself.

I remember when he had the heart attack and stroke. I know it's been a year already, but I would be concerned about overall health before big time traveling again, on top of this whole virus thing. If these are the masks they are wearing - it's not going to protect them from anything - it's not even sealing all around .

@much2say It’s still risky, even being on a plane, if you ask me.
I’m not sure how long they plan to be there, but they will travel somewhere else. They spend 2-3 weeks when they go away in February.
I know she will be coming to Miami in March. I’m going to stay far away from her!

It makes sense to wear a mask.The novel coronavirus is highly infectious.

Why couldn't they have traveled someplace safer close to home at this time? Go the Grand Canyon or something.
