Old Neighbors are coming back

Because I can’t stand and walk, I no
longer see what’s outside in the neighborhood. When there was an earthquake and one of my Brother carried me outside, I saw a new house built in one of our neighbors old place. Mother told me, old neighbors are coming back and claiming again their old places. Even if they only have small place they are still building their own small house.
I wonder why they are keep coming back?
I thought they all live a nicer and happy life elsewhere that’s why they leave their place.

Maybe they encountered a problem in their home so they need to go back to their original home which is cheaper to build.

Maybe something changed for the better in the old neighborhood and perhaps there was an attraction at what time that has been restored and caused them to want to "come home."
Sorry to hear about not being able to stand or walk. I hope that is not permanent.

@JustBhem Well, maybe they have a problem with the other one but for sure we could only guess things...
