Zone One has a low score on Goodreads (3.26 out of 5), but I thought it was a very good book. It's understandable why those who want constant zombie action would rate this low, because it's more thoughts, conversations and remembrances than deathly fighting. At first, there's an expectation in the story line that humans are winning the war, and soldiers are just eliminating small pockets of those left. As the story continues, the reader realizes all may be lost for the living. This is a tale told without the narrative pointing out the obvious--we're compelled to determine outcome for ourselves. I rate this 5 out of 5. https://pixabay.com/photos/beach-sea-beautiful-beaches-1272757/
