Flea Market And Thrift Store

Decided just to get out of the house for a bit. It's actually a really nice day today. Sunny and 51 degrees. 6 degrees warmer than I thought it was going to be, and it FEELS warm. So, I was liking that. Went to the local flea market which was again going on this weekend. Didn't buy much. I got a Trump coin for $5 and Dawn got a three novel 007 book for $10. Plus, there's a roasted nut guy there all the time and she likes to get the roasted pecans. There went another $5. I should note we had to pay $3 for parking at the fairgrounds for the flea market. After that we went to Goodwill. I bought a pair of jeans for work. $5. Dawn got a pair of jeans also, $5, and she bought a blouse which was about $4. It was fun to just get out of the house for a bit and only spent $37 all said. Not bad. But still, if you all could be so kind to respond heavily on this post it would be helpful... I'd like my $37 back.

@Mavic123456 They wandered in off the street. Probably escapees from a flea circus.

@Tina30219 I am thinking the same thing. I am reminded of THIS guy.
Remember that funny Lending Tree commercial where a guy named Stanley Johnson appeared to be living the good life? Stanley had the big house, a country club ...

Thank you very much. I need all the help I can get. Especially since the wife left as soon as we got home with my mom to go to Saver's and Plato's Closet. My spending may not be over yet.

At least you still have your sense of humor and it doesn't cost you a penny. I hope this helps you get a litle of your money back. We used to have a Saver's near my house but they closed. I don't know why - they seemed to do a good business, every time I went in there they had quite a few customers in the store. I'm trying to downsize so I'll be donating a lot of stuff to my local Goodwill. My house has become infested with "stuff".

@Mavic123456 Yes, a stuff infestation is better than a termite infestation no matter how you look at it. But still it's hard to get rid of things I absolutely love. At least with the termites you can call in someone else - exterminator - to get rid of the problem for you. Not sure which would be more trouble.

@deazil better than that, except if the terminators are sexy. using termites as meal haha like here they cook ants and crickets.

I don't know if this will help you get part of your $37 back, but a penny maybe to the cause. It sounds like you did well with all your shopping.

@NJChicaa You can find some REALLY good deals and save a TON of money in a thrift store. I get most of my clothes in them, and sometimes I find a good pan or something. It's really a great bargain, things get reused, and I save money to boot. It's great.

Don't mind the $37, at least you enjoyed. It's one of the inevitables, the moment we stepped into a mall, a flea market, a thrift store whatever form of a marketplace we always spend.

I like the flea markets because it's like one big, giant rummage sale kind of. Always interesting things to look at even if we often walk out empty handed. They do them several times a month at the local fairgrounds and we make it there often. I agree with you. This was money well spent. Enjoyed our time and that is what counts.

@florelway It is actually. Sometimes you just have to find an excuse to get out of the house for a bit.

It's surprising what you can pick up at flea markets sometimes. You should always take money with you.

I usually have a handful of cash with me for the flea market. Nowadays you don't necessarily need it. Seems everyone has the ability to take a credit or debit card these days.

I try. I think I got a pretty good deal on the jeans, and they were in darn good shape. Why not let the idiots spend their money on new stuff. I'll take the used stuff all day long and wear them until there are nothing but strings left. lol On top of everything they were Old Navy. $5 for a pair of Old Navy jeans is a steal.

Looking back at this post I am reminded how much I miss the flea market. Not sure when it will open again. Right now the fairgrounds where it is held is still being used for Covid vaccinations. Oh well. Maybe one of these days.
