Thanks to a post by@JustforHim I have been recalling the snow events of my life living here in sunny Florida and decided to share most of the times I experienced snow. The first is from pictures my parents took in 1958 when there was a snowfall that left a patch of snow on the shaded side of the house we lived in and they took pictures of me at about 2 and onehalf years old playing in the snow. The next recorded snowfall was 15 years later in 1973 and I remember as a Junior in high school classes being cancelled and we waited in class for our bus number to be called as buses came to pick us up and going home just before the snow started because they wanted everyone home safely and buses cars down here aren't equip to drive in snowy or icy conditions. It was fun watching snow fall later that afternoon and having a snow day the next day. In January of 1977 was one of the more memorial snow events as I remembered going to my college classes and after the first one classes being cancelled and walking across campus and watching a fluffy snowfall coming down as I walked to where the county buses picked students up, My bus was there and I got on and as we were pulling off the Bus Station told drivers that after they have unload their passengers that the system was being shut down for the rest of the day due to conditions expected to worsen on the roads. I was glad to make it home and later that day help make a small snowman in a neighbor's yard. We have only have had dustings of snow since then with one giving us enough to have a White Christmas in 2004. Snow may be few and far between but it is enjoyed here when we do have it. Probably won't be this year as it is getting late but we are due for a significant snowfall soon.

@LindaOHio I figured that out! Just for the record, I haven’t seen a flake (of snow lol) down here, yet. Never froze down here. We owned land in Naples, and it never got cold enough for it to snow there either.

When you only get snow occasionally, it would be much more exciting.

I had no idea that your state got snow as often or as much as you remember it to have had, although I have family that owns property there and they have told me that it does freeze in some areas.

I remember the blizzard we had in Connecticut in 2013. The snow plows couldn’t make it to our street, so hubs and I had to clear our driveway of 40 inches of snow. I chopped the snow with my snow shovel while he blew it onto the lawns with his snowblower. It took three long days. Right then and there in the driveway, we decided to either rent a house or buy a condo in South Florida. The rest is history.

I'm glad you had enough to make a small snowman. That's great you enjoyed a few snowstorms.
