What happens when the pests aren't the real pests?

About every four months my apartment sends out a letter that states pest control will be coming by to spray. I have never had any bug problems, but the maintenance man tells me I am one of the few whose apartment is not a pig sty. Apparently, I keep a clean apartment while a lot of others don't.
So the only pests I deal with are the apartment managers themselves. Every three months our air filters are supposed to be changed, but the managers have not had them changed in 14 months. I went to them twice in the past six months, and they keep saying they'll get it done. Housing says this is not something they can make them do, so you can imagine how my allergies are faring.
My lease is coming up to renew, and I am moving. This complex has a nicer group of apartments across the street, and if they let me move their I would be happy. However, I think they are full now. I just know for my own wellbeing I cannot stay in my current apartment.

Yes, across the street sounds better...Are you on a wait list for one? They may have something come up in the next couple of months.

@AmbiePam Good luck, fingers crossed for you. I think eventually you will get in a better place, hopefully sooner rather than later.

I wish I had that option. my daughter tells me she changed the filter every time I ask but I know she hasn't . She does it when she feels like it. allergies don't bother her.
you also wonder I suppose just how safe those bug sprays are even when they tell you they are right?

I think it is a bad to do when owners of properties do not do what they say they are going to do, especially when they are gathering rent every month! It is a disgrace, I do not blame you for deciding to move, but what a shame that you have to for something that is not your fault!

So sorry about the place you are living in.
A move across the street sounds ideal for you.
Perhaps you can get your name placed on a waitlist in the meantime.
One must be happy and content where they live, and your well-being should be a priority.
Have you tried looking online?

My place has pest control out the first Wednesday of every month. But we've only needed them once, years ago.
We're also always told by everyone how clean our home is.
I hope you get a better place soon.

Get your allergy treated until you have to stay in that apartment.

Aw I'm sorry that you have to move, but I hope you get something way nicer than what you have now
