I understand it isn't easy to come.out of depressed state. But remaining confined to it clearly means more damage to oneself. Step out, look around and try to enjoy anything that makes you happy

Well, there are no easy answers. Yet you could try the following:
1)Be regular with one of your hobbies.
2)Try to talk about your issues with a friend with good listening skills.
3)Have regular walks in the company of nature. Early morning walks can help.
4)Be more regular here on Mylot. You would feel de-stressed by being in regular conversations here.

It’s best not to be alone when you’re feeling depressed. Don’t watch depressing movies or tv show or listen to depressing music and songs. Tell someone what you’re feeling; someone that you trust. Above all, don’t be alone. Find someone even if it’s just a call.

Well these are my experience when I was suffering from depression., nervous breakdown, anxiety, hard to sleep, I wanted to ran away and I did, I sleep in park for few days., I feel depressed because my father want me to take over his job and I really dont like it and I have no choice but to accept it. doing that job makes me depress everyday.

@953233 go back to your self and analyze what's giving you trouble. Learn to accept your faults. Only then that you can move on. If you need to consult a therapist do so .

Talking and sharing how you feel I think is one of the best ways to get out of it.
In my case, I don't like taking how I truly feel when I'm in a depressed state. I would mostly stay in bed and watch tv and sometimes do some art stuff.
Acknowledging the fact that you are in a state of depression and trying to find a way to get out of it is good.

It is hard dealing with depression. There are different types of feeling depressed, sometimes it's a cloudy and dreary day with rain all day long, with nothing on the news but bad news. Sometimes I get depressed, when I am bored, or worried about doing something I don't want to do, like visit my doctor. But when it occurs without direct cause, that is, when things are going great, good job, lots of friends and good health, but still feeling down and out, that could be due to not having enough positive energy in your life. Positive energy comes from looking at things with a positive outlook. I can see things good and bad and try to focus on the good as much as possible. I smile even when I feel like crying. People need people. I know that talking is the best therapy for depression.

Depression is that feeling of hopelessness in life. I have gone through it myself and it was so tough. Luckily, mine was a mild one and not severe and so I could deal with it on my own through self therapy. This was through reading several self help books on this topic. What really helped me were books by Albert Ellis. A psychologist and an author who is the pioneer of Rationally Emotive Behavior Therapy.
The main focus of this kind of therapy is to change your thoughts and beliefs that may be causing you to live a miserable life. I came to learn through reading this books that I was holding on to very irrational thoughts and believes that were causing me to be so depressed.

hang out with friends when you don't have work , weekends or holidays. but not with bad influence people. Whenever you are alone , listen to inspiring music or make yourself busy like on Social media , I think you have online friends chat with your friends.
Enjoy , Life is too short to worry .

Depression or any mental health issues are really hard. The only way to cope with it is to acknowledge the symptoms and to find a better solution for it that you will overcome those thoughts. We all go through rock bottom at some point in our lives and yes, it is not easy but the only way we can fight those depressive urges is to seek medical help and also flipping your life around. Surrounding yourself with positivity and divulging yourself to activities that makes you whole again. Do some workouts as it releases the stress or do something that you are passionate about so as to divert those thoughts. Hang in there pal!

Sometimes even though everything is fine you have this sadness that comes from nowhere your life seems bitter all you want is to stop to suffer but you really don't know how.. And it hurts even more as you don't know why you feel like that.
