It's the day...

February 21, 1991 Friday. I was informed by a classmate that my parents were abducted. Went home, got a call from my parents' friend ordering me to stay at home and tell my siblings not to go to school as well. He didn't mention what happened to my parents but I knew he was lying. He just said my parents are coming over soon.
Uncle arrived in our car with our driver in our city home and told us we need to go to our hometown as something had happened to our parents. Too many people swarming in our front gate, crying. As we alighted from the car everybody were staring at me and my siblings with tears in their eyes. We were brought into the living room where my grandfather was and told us the most horrific news I have ever heard.
It was this day, Friday, the 21st, 29 years ago when we lost our father and mother.

My father's cousin orchestrated everything. He had my father killed and my mother was just a collateral damage.

@toniganzon This is horrible, I am really sorry for what happened to your parents. Of course it is not something you will ever forgive and forget.

@infatuatedbby It's hard celebrating my birthday each year. I become depressed.

@toniganzon Oh so sorry to know that you had to go to that ordeal at a very young age. I didn't know that you went through all that. I hope that you are able to accept and move on with that because I seem to have difficulty to comprehend what I would feel if I were in your shoes at that time.

@rsa101 I have moved on. We all lived a "normal" life, the way our parents would want us to. We never suffered financially. Emotional struggle was more difficult for all of us. But we are all doing okay.

I just turned 13 that time. They were murdered 3 days after my birthday and my 13th birthday was the last time I saw them.

Because my father was a famous political figure and his opponent had him murdered and my mother was just a collateral damage.

@JudyEv I have four siblings. At that time three were in the university, one was graduating in high school. Nobody brought us up. We were trained by our parents how to handle our businesses. We have maids at home. My mom's parents were living with us but after awhile they went to live in the US, so it was just me and my siblings.
