Going to try to grow a few pots of herbs on the platform outside my door

I used to have two 10 x 10 raised vegetable beds to plant yellow squash, zucchini, cucumbers, tomatoes, many varieties of peppers, eggplant, green beans, etc. I also had pots upon pots of herbs: basil, cilantro, parsley, dill, sage, tarragon, rosemary, oregano, etc. That obviously didn't happen this past spring/summer since I moved to this apartment.
I planted a pot of basil seeds and kept it in the front room of the apartment next to the front window. It did very well and is actually still alive. It is cold in this apartment but it is hanging on.
I hope to be able to plant dill, rosemary, and sage this summer in pots right outside of my door. Parsley and cilantro are easy enough to buy at the grocery store when you need them. There is low yield from them too. I never used the oregano or tarragon often so I won't miss those.
I'm not sure if I'll be allowed to put those pots out but I guess we will see. I already have 2 Mexican planters near the door that had colorful annual flowers and I didn't get in trouble for that. We shall see about the herbs.

Any greenery that added to the beauty of a building, shouldn't be a problem. Jay tried to raise tomatoes last summer, but we don't get enough sunshine in our yard. The front yard is shaded and in the afternoon, the back yard is fully shaded. I can't wait to see your various herbs, this summer!
