Living My Best Life As A Nomad.

Yes, it has been awhile since I've posted here on mylot. Life has just been good to us this winter and I have been able to spend much more time creating art and not xo much time online. My husband and I have spent the last 4 months camping in the Arizona desert. It has been so peaceful. Our days are just spent doing much of nothing. Mostly he plays games on his tablet and watching shows online, and I spend time creating art, taking photographs, walking my little dog Wally, and enjoying a desert sunset before ending the night by a campfire listening to music and having a few drinks. This to me is what life is all about. Of course living in a van come with challenges, but it is all so worth it because we have peace of mind without the drama and stresses of everyday society. We love being off grid choosing whatever new scenic backyard we want to enjoy and living free of rent, mortgages, and utilities. Even though a bucket is our bathroom, there is such a freedom of taking care of business under a night sky jam packed with stars and the milky way. If you love your comfort and amenities, then this life isn't for you. But you would be quite surprised at how many Americans are living this lifestyle. It is a huge community and during the winter months Arizona is one our major gathering places. We love our nomadic life. It has been the happiest and most peaceful times of my life. This is my dream life. Are you living your dream life?

You are very adventurous, it sounds like a unique experience. For me, I like having my comforts. I went for camping once (it was organized with shared toilets and everything) and even though it was fun, I wouldn't do it again.

@MistyckMoon My brother is like you, he really enjoys going to remote places for vacations and camping at the beach for a month. He also has pictures of the most beautiful sunsets. Your photos are beautiful!

Your photos are magnificent. We go off with a car and caravan from time to time and always enjoy it. As you say, it's a very peaceful life.

Wow--your pictures are beautiful! I am a classical singer and voice teacher in my everyday life--also a licensed attorney and psychotherapist--but teaching is what I love--but my husband and I are talking about getting a van and touring around when we--if we--retire

@MistyckMoon I am looking to put an electric engine in an old VW van--summers are about the only time we have available right now--and we would want to take our dog with us

You can still enjoy the lifestyle part time until you retire. There are many in this lifestyle that do it part time and they love it.

@divalounger many people live the lifestyle part time until they can do it fully and most nomads travel with their fur babies. I have my little one with me.

Sometimes it takes that one step out of your comfort zone to love your dream life. Fear is the biggest factor of excuses that stoos you in your tracks.

I'm so happy for you! Not many people are actually living their dream lives. Your post is great. I appreciate your honest description of the lifestyle and that it's not for everyone. I really love the photos.

That is wonderful that you are living your dream. As long as you are happy I see no reason to change. I have to have an indoor bathroom myself, but you are right about a lot of people moving more and more off the grid.
