We visited Lumbini Gardens in Nepal but weren’t able to go into any of the temples as they were closed for lunch.
However, back in 2017, Vince took these photos in the German temple so I thought I’d share them here. He said it was very ornately decorated and, from the photos, it certainly seems to be the case.

Of late, I have missed being active here on some days. May be I would be more so from 10th March onwards.

Wow--this is beautiful. I have never been to Nepal--do you know why it is called the German Temple?

@JudyEv I'm sure it would have been breathtaking. Just looking at the picture boggles my mind at the detail

Is there a reason why each country builds their own temple? Are the worshippers segregated by nationality, or are they free to worship in any temple they choose? Or, is the style of worship, or denomination of Hindu different from country to country?

As far as I know, there is no segregation as such. There seems to be several branches of Buddhism. I can only presume that eg Myanmar Buddhists wanted their own temple as did Australian, American, French etc did. Most temples are attached to a monastery and there are 14 in the Western Monastic Zone and some in the Eastern Zone but I couldn't find a definitive figure.

I had to read to find out why it was the "German" temple. I enjoy the looks of many of them, but then again, I like bright colors.

Each country had erected their own temple. I guess pilgrimages and study groups come for the different countries to worship/study in these places.

The outsides were pretty amazing too so I guess the other interiors were equally fancy.
