It looks like there are over 1500 national days, and there is a celebration for something every day of the year. I came accross this website and started exploring the national days. Today, 25th of February, 7 national days are celebrated including the following: - National Chocolate Covered Nut Day - National Clam Chowder Day - World Spay Day  - National Pancake Day – IHOP I am planning to celebrate with some homemade banana pancakes for dinner. Which national days do you celebrate?

Those all sound like good national days. I haven't celebrated one in a while.

On Monday it was national tortilla chip day! I am sorry I missed it, it would be nice to order some tortilla chips for snack. As per this calendar, today it's pistachio day!

@just4him I love pistachios and nuts! But I didn't buy some to honor the day.

I don't know that we celebrate many of these at all but I'm aware of the important ones.

I wasn't aware of these particular celebrations either. It's interesting to see how many national days people have invented.

We don't have any of this kind of national days. The only impromptu holiday that we get is when our state football team wins a national championship. This has happened quite a few times that people are expecting to have a holiday when there's a football match at the national level.

@besweet I wonder if there's a pancake association that celebrate the day by giving away pancakes or having a pancake eating competition.

That's good, I hope your team wins very often! These days I mentioned above are not actually celebrated here either. They are just strange celebations that people invented like national pancake day, when you just have a great excuse to eat pancakes!

Well, it was Pancake Day in the UK yesterday, what with it being Shrove Tuesday. Obviously we had pancakes, but not those weird IHOP American ones. Proper English ones! Yummy.

I also had pancakes! But homemade, it was a great excuse to eat without feeling guilty!

We also celebrate both, they are official holidays too. Most of the days in that website are strange celebrations like the chocolate covered nut day!
