Well, one thing about desert camping is that you have to deal with high winds. We've been inside our van alot since yesterday other than to go outdoors to walk my little dog Wally and chat with a friend camping by us. It's been in the 70's and sunny, just very windy which blows alot of sand and dirt around. Not great for my asthma. We keep hoping that it dies down by sunset so that we can enjoy a campfire tonight. No campfire last nighf because the winds never stopped. Oh well, I keep myself pretty busy online when I can't go outdoors. Hope everyone is having a great day!

It's just a part of life out here. I think every part of the country has to deal with their own weather type issues.

@MistyckMoon My corner gets high winds, too. About a week ago a person I know put up a big flappy tent type pavilion. Next day gusting winds came in and blew it down and stomped it good. Poor woman should have known that we get winds roaring between 20 and 40 mph.

@sallypup She most likely didn't know how to anchor it down correctly for high winds and not all tents are made for high winds. The tent I have can sustain up to 30 miles an hour winds. It is still standing. but I also have it securely staked down.

Thanks! I keep watching my tent hoping it wont get torn up by the winds. I use the tent as my art studio.
