Olympics 2020 might be cancelled

Because of the spread of Coronavirus, the Olympic Games 2020 might be cancelled. I think it’s best to cancel this global games because we need to contain the virus. Imagine the number of people that will be going and participating in the Games. It will be a nightmare to contain the spread of the virus. What do you think? Should the Games be cancelled or continue?

Olympics is a big major event and cannot be just moved to another place when preparations for the Games take a long time.

That should be the best thing to do since it will put a lot of people at risk. I don’t think this virus is going to go away very soon. It has already spread to Italy and now to South America. There is not a continent on Earth that the virus is not reported (except for Antartica).

As much as I would hate to miss Simone Biles repeat her amazing gymnastic show in Rio in 2016, better to be safe than sorry since the health of all sports stars is more important.

That is true.If Tokyo still continues with the Games, I will guarantee that the number of athletes that will go to compete might not make it all worth it. Perhaps, there won’t even be audiences to witness the Games.

Do you think the Olympics should be cancelled? It’s supposed to begin in July 2020. Some are hoping that the virus will die in the next few months. But I’m not confident that this will happen. Even the SARs virus lasted about 8 months.

As much as I enjoy the Olympics it might be a good thing to cancel them. I'm not sure how they would be sure they were containing it since most people are spreading it before they even know they have it.

That is true. We don’t know much about this new virus. Every day I see on tv more people are getting infected and now there’s even a case in South America. It’s best to just cancel this event that might turn into a nightmare and a virus heaven.

@Bensen32 Even right now, we’re all advised to stay away from crowded places. The Olympics would definitely be crowded and the nightmare to contain everyone. Better to cancel the Games altogether to be on the safe side.

Oh no! We have high hopes on our qualifiers this time. But I believe it should be postponed knowing that there is no cure yet for the disease. This might be very risky.

Definitely risky. We don’t want to lose any of our athletes to this virus. It should be postponed until after it’s safe.

@UmiNoor I am with you. I believe they should be cancelled too. I just looked up where they were going to be help and for sure they need to cancel them. People can be infected and that is not good.
