I had squids cooked in soy sauce for lunch. Some people might not want to eat squids. Or perhaps not know how to cook squids. Do you eat squids? How do cook squids?

Yeah, squids are mostly in Asian dishes like tempura calamari. You might probably not like the taste.

@porwest Perhaps it was overcooked. Squids can get really chewy and rubbery if it’s overcooked. It’s quite a difficult ingredient to cook well actually.

@UmiNoor It's not the taste. It's the texture. I can eat it in very small amounts hidden in a dish. But mostly it's a no for me.

Wow, you must like squids a lot. It's actually quite a difficult ingredient to cook. If you fry it too long, it will become chewy. So you must know your cooking time when you cook squids.

@louievill I only have seen two types of squids; the wet kind and the dried up ones. I know that there are different sizes but I always buy the medium size type.

@UmiNoor and there are also many types of squid, I like the small round ones for adobo since they are tender and the bigger variety for calamares. Correct cooking time is important especially the big ones, they will become like rubber, using a pressure cooker is also helpful.

I like squids, we cut them and fry in batter, or we also add them to the fish soups or to season spaghetti.

@BabeSays I think you can use tempura flour and fry the calamari with it and you can get very crispy calamari.

I have never had squid but the thought of it isn’t a appling to me but that could be a culture thing. I wouldn’t know how to cook a squid if I had one.

Squids are mostly used in Asian dishes. It’s not an ingredient that is much used in Western cuisine. It is also quiet a difficult ingredient to cook. If you overcook squids, it’ll become rubbery.

@UmiNoor I know what type of dishes they are used in. Thus the reason it’s not something I would typically eat. Season in general I don’t care for too much. I’ll eat Shrimp and crawfish

Some people don't like squids because of the tentacles. My children don't eat the tentacles. They only eat the body.

I love squids and cook them in many ways. I also like to ask for them in Peruvian restaurants where they serve them with a special black olive sauce.
