Absent from school... / myLot

I got a miss call from my kids school, then a text message from there school. When I looked at the text message which I almost never get from the school it’s usually a phone call with a message. I read the text saying both my daughter and son didn’t show up to schoolS which I know is untrue because I watched both walk into school. They are in elementary so once they walk through the front door they can’t leave without being signed out. I was about to call them and asked them what was going on when I saw another message come through to disregard the one I just got it’s and error. Apparently most of the parents got the same thing and were wondering what!!

Wow, just think about all the parents that received this message and was wondering if something had happened to their child. I received a message one time, letting me know that my child was not in school. The trouble was, my kids were grown and I did not know the child they were talking about. I did call the school to let them know they had contacted the wrong number. I think schools should make sure all their contact information is correct and double check to make sure they are sending the message to the right number.

It was a mass message to all parent with there child’s individual name. We have an absentee line we call at the start of day other wise we get a phone call either a automatic message or a physical attendant secretary will call you. The kids grade teacher takes roll every morning. A lot of us parents knew the message was wrong because the majority of the kids that go to this school walk to school, got drop off or buses and the kids are watched supper close by the teachers every morning so once on school grounds they don’t leave till a parent picks them up, or they go home on the bus.

It was strange but they worked to fix it and message al parents right away to let them know to was an error and there child was okay or they are at home for being sick.

Maybe there was a glitch with their I.T. System and forwarded the wrong text message.
