Watched a very interesting documentary about the iconic Bluebird Cafe in Nashville.
And now, 37 years after it opened, the Nashville venue is finally getting to tell its own story. The documentary "Bluebird" has just been released on iTunes, Amazon and other digital video platforms.

I saw a terrific “in the round” performance there a couple of years ago with Robyn Hitchcock, Peter Case, and Kevin Kinney. One of the most legendary places in Nashville. I’d put it right up there with the Station Inn and Tootsie’s.

@CarolDM — last time I was there a friend told me they’re offering over $4 million for the Station Inn. Don’t know how much longer the owner will hold out. I hope one day it looks like Bugs Bunny’s rabbit hole in that cartoon where he fought the highway expansion.

@FourWalls A lot of downtown and music row is unrecognizable. Very sad.

I love little places like this where you can see the big stars. We used to go to a little club in Cleveland called Leo's Casino. We saw stars like Stevie Wonder, the Fifth Dimension, Dionne Warwick, etc. It was really cool!

@CarolDM I'll definitely look for it next time I'm in Nashville. I need to visit before "progress" destroys it.

@CarolDM The lips were moving but nothing was heard. It was all a music thing. I would have liked to know more about what it was about than to just see the musicians talking but nothing heard.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm sure the show was good where the trailer wasn't.

Never heard about this venue. It is fascinating to see how international stars started their journey.

They also have a Bluebird here but it is a theater but a great venue for many big time artists now where they started out here.

I lived in Memphis for 10 years and for 8 years I would drive to Chattanooga but always avoided Nashville--don't know why but I loved Memphis and Chattanooga but not Nashville!!!
