I know nothing abut Harry Potter, however, this shop in the Shambles, an ancient street in York, England, sells Potter memorabilia. I just like the name.
Quaint name indeed. I also like the 'Shambles'. Is there an explanation behind the Shambles. My niece and her husband now live in York and are looking to buy there.
Shambles is known as the 'street of butchers'. It's name comes from the medieval 'shamel', or booth, because the butchers' shops had benches outside to display meat. Found that on the internet, it sounds reasonable to me.
