Don’t even dare doing it! (DIY Braces)

Dental care is important. It boosts one's self confidence and also helps in health and oral reasons. Having a perfect smile is always a goal for everyone. Some do everything to achieve it even doing the unexpected and the most dangerous ways.
Braces is one of the most common dental procedure in order to achieve perfect straight teeth. This costs thousands and is pretty much expensive and extensive that for some is really hard to accomplish. Recently, there has been a trend over online market place that sells DIY (Do it yourself) Dental Braces kit that are highly dangerous and very alarming that the Government and Health Organizations are stepping in to fight this illegal activity.
In the Philippines, this trend has been popular over online markets and can be bought for only 500 pesos, This includes the Metal Brace, Rubber Wire and has some instructional videos on setting it with the use of Tweezers, a Nail Cutter, and Super Glue to stick the braces on.
This is a very unsafe procedure because it will definitely deform your teeth's structure and has some chemical hazards since it's not medical grade.
My take on the situation, Online market and the government should seek more to where the root of all this illegal activities started and shut down businesses that sells stuffs like this. Also, People should not take for granted their health and oral health but rather invest on something that's legit and professionally made. Have you heard about this "DIY Braces" trend?

I think one of the reason why some people do this dangerous and illegal procedure is that media and most especially celebrities are glorifying braces as a status symbol that's why people who wants to be in the fad tries to mimic it but in the wrong way. I'm not saying all Filipino people are doing this but most of the young ones especially those who social climb do. Thanks for your response.

Yeah, those Fake Dental Offices are all over the country! It's just sad that the Government should mandate a cheaper rate for Dental services so that people won't go settle to something that's really dangerous. Thanks for your response.

Here on the Philippines, most of the people here thinks that having braces is a trend. but since some of them can't really afford to go to a dentist, they just tend to do DIY braces. they didn't know that they would be spending more money on the consequences of DIY braces.

This is bought by how showbiz endorsed having braces as a status symbol which is really a shallow knowledge on the purpose of dental braces. It's not just a trend to follow but a medical instrument that helps correcting crooked teeth. As i mentioned on the previous comment, The Government should regulate cheaper dental services so those who aren't able to pay can avail the procedure. Thanks for your response.

This is my first time seeing this news-
That's sounds dangerous, it could make your teeth even become more worse.
Also, those braces inside your mouth everyday--, if it is dangerous, you will get sick faster.
