Restaurants are slowly killing themselves with that practice, more fees, the infamous "gluesteak".

@LadyDuck that is not a good practice. If you have seen my post last week about the chili beans that I cooked, there was something amiss that I didn't notice. At first I was wondering why the cauldron seemed to be not full. And then I noticed the pack of beans that says 450 grams. That is 50 grams less than half a kilo that I usually buy.

Yes, after picking her up from the airport, we went to my favorite steak house which was very near. She also noticed that there was no leftover. Usually when we eat there, about a third of the steak would be left for the doggie bag, It is also the favorite of our dogs. Yesterday there was nothing to bring home.

@KityCat whether steak or not, it is still chicken. To me, when steak is mentioned, what comes to mind is beef tenderloin, t-bone or porterhouse.

@Alexandoy Haha they may increase the price but less sales which may be bad for them. The volume must see to it that the demand will still remain to be profitable. It is difficult to really choose which way to go because both have actually consequence to their operation.

@rsa101 on the contrary, I don't think everyone would notice that the size of the steak is smaller unless you are a regular customer.

I would rather they increase the price instead of cutting down on the size. If I cannot afford to eat there then so be it. But giving me a smaller size is like fooling me with the price.

@Alexandoy Oh, really! Their strategy os maximizing the profit is disappointing. Just like the chickenjoy of Jollibeem The piece is already small that you will just have to order for two piece.

@Alexandoy Sometimes restaurants cut the portions to increase the profit. It happens, and people still go to the same place if the food is tasty. Smaller portion will make you order side dish also, which is extra profit for them.

To be honest they seems to be value for money considering the size of it

I was amused on the first time I saw those potato balls right in that restaurant.

I sometimes cook steak, the sirloin that is available in the wet market. Wet market as differentiated from the supermarket is the freshness of the products they sell like meat, fish, chicken, vegetables and fruits.

Same with me. I love steak but I seldom have it. The last time I had steak was in January and the next is only today.

@Mabeljoe the taste is almost the same with the steak but the Caesar's salad is low quality compared to the usual they serve.

Maybe so that the price increase cannot be avoided so some smart business people resort to shaving the size of the serving.

Mine is just medium well because it gets tough when well done.

I really think the steak got smaller.

The sauce is their own gravy with mushroom and butter on top. I used A-1 steak sauce.

I had experienced the smaller serving only in the breakfast bread. Instead of raising the price, the bakery made the size smaller.

My wife also like it well done but for me it is always medium well.
