Lunch plans have changed.

Every Friday, it has become a tradition to cook grilled fish. My husband's favorite is seabass and I also like a local fish from the market. The routine includes going to the vegetable market to buy the greens for the side dish and then go for the fresh fish. We finished all other tasks and arrived at the fish market, just to find out that today they didn't have any deliveries. They said that nothing is fresh and they will not have delivery until tomorrow. Tomorrow I am working, this means we have to wait for next Friday. I wonder if it has to do with the virus, everything seems to be slowing doing and many things are going out of stock. I didn't expect that to happen with fish deliveries but who knows. What did you have for lunch today?

No meat today, is Friday and it's Lent. I had pasta for lunch, I will prepare salmon fillets for dinner. We have no problems with the food for the moment.

@LadyDuck We have the same tradition for Friday. Eventually we had take away chicken for lunch because I didn't have a back up plan. I never expected that, usually if our first choice of fish isn't available they will have something else fresh. Let's see what happens next week.I don't know exactly what was the reason for this fish delivery problem, it was my assumption. It's good that you don't have any issues with food.

The fresh fish in the mediterranean is amazing. Since you are married to a Greek you must have tried all the local food! Do you also have fish Fridays with the parents? It's very traditional in Greece, for Fridays and Saturdays. Currently I am not in Greece because of work, but we try to keep our tradition and feel like we are closer to home.

I like to eat fish, but I don't eat it that often. I had soup, mashed potatoes and schnitzel.

@besweet I can relate to that. You feel more connected to your culture once you don't live in it anymore.

@rappeter13 Yes it's some kind of nostalgia I think. When we take everything for granted it doesn't seem so important but when we go away it is different.

Sounds like a great meal! I wasn't eating before either. Only if someone cooked for me. But now being away from home is making me want to keep these traditions.

Sorry you weren't able to get your fish and I'm sure it's disappointing especially when you were looking forward to it.

It was dissappointing indeed, and unexpected because it has never happened before. I wasn't prepared to cook anything else and we had take away for lunch eventually.

Are you having many small meals per day? I also decided to eat intermediate small meals it's healthier and I eat less during lunch time also.

@thelme55 It sounds like you have found what works for you! I am planning to follow this 6 meal per day plan and see how it goes. There are many different dietary plans that we can follow, it depends on what works for each one of us.

I am trying to remember because it was a long time back. I usually have a frozen meal for back up, and pasta or a sandwitch would be a good idea as well.

Nice to learn your tradition of grilled fish every Friday. Here people usually cook ginisang munggo every Friday. Many are now affected by the virus

Maybe it's time to buy a fishing rod, lures, and bait. I've heard deliveries are slowing down all over. I haven't seen it here yet, but I'm sure it's coming.

It's not just the worry about getting the virus but wondering what supplies are likely to dry up. Possibly anything made in China might become hard to get - things like batteries perhaps. It's all a bit of an unknown, isn't it?

Many items are made in China, and parts of other items produced elsewhere. I think it will be a big problem. Here we have the first problems with the materials in the companies, the orders are delaying and the prices are going up. So the clients are complaining and also the companies are losing money from the price difference if it's not included in the contracts.
