The thought of life after retirement may makes some people cheerful and happy, but as far as I am concerned, I presume it will be a nightmare and surely a cause of anxiety about how life would be after I leave my regular profession /occupation. How do I cope with it?

We love being retired. We had a lot of 'projects' that we were able to tackle once we retired. I think you need to find something you love doing outside of work and maybe start engaging in it now. Those who have a hobby or pastime they enjoy won't have so much trouble easing into retirement.
