I Didn't Win...

So the competition on the site just says closed the older ones said finished but it'd been 8 days so I thought okay I'll check their Instagram as they'd said they announce winners on there and thought maybe they have already and it's just not been updated as finished on the site yet for whatever reason.
Turns out they announced the winners yesterday and sadly I did not win one of the winners was the woman who had submitted like a LOT of entries like 5 which may not seem like a lot but it kinda is more than anyone else submitted.
I only did one and am now kicking myself mentally for not submitting more but there is no time for really dwelling on it because there are more challenges that I can enter. One closes in 3 days but it is right up my street given the topic it's on.
I should have entered it earlier but just never got round to it but this loss has made me want to move onto another challenge on their site because by god am I determined to win.
And whilst quality over quantity is always important if I can get 2 or 3 quality articles written for this challenge then my odds aren't half bad as currently I count about 51 valid entries.
See everyone can post a submission of something already published on the site which means it just gets added to the submissions page and doesn't get checked to see if it follows the competitions guidelines. Or you can write a new piece for submission.
I spoke to the sites FB page for more information on the competitions and what they said is they weed out the submissions that don't match the entry criteria/requirements after the submissions box has closed.
Then the rest are sent on to the judges. So by me calculation there is about give or take 51 so even if in the next three days you get more even if it gets to 60 if I can submit even 1 it's a 1 in 60 chance of winning first but to win one of the three places it's a 3 in 60 chance of winning which is apparently 5% which hey isn't half bad a lot of competitions you get tons of entries but this is a smaller site so it's good right now before it gets more popular due to the competitions it now runs.
I am hopeful but not too much so! Fingers crossed ey.

Are you talking about the competitions on vocal? I signed up, but didn't have the time and the energy needed to get the hang of that site, yet.

Yes I am. When did you sign up? I've been on it for a little bit now before they did the competitions. I joined up like in January I think...but I didn't do and still haven't done too much uploading too it.
Actually I am in the middle of taking some content from my blog to upload to it now for submissions process!

@Erinnn41 I joined on Friday, I think. But I will try to understand how things work there tomorrow, after work. I hope I will manage to do so.

@Erinnn41 Thank you, you are very kind. I will give it a try, but I don't know how I will manage to draw traffic to my articles.

Yes 5% is not a bad chance at all! I just need to make sure I write the articles today but I am not going to stress myself out too much because if this competition closes without me finding time to write for it there is another two I believe with longer dates til submissions close.

Thank you so much for this. Well I never know unless I try so it's always worth it and there will be more competitions so if not this time then another time. Law of averages says if I enter enough of them and do enough entries per contest I have to win at least 3rd prize in one of them eventually right! haha
One can dream I guess!

Too bad you did not win, but, now you know what to do the next time. Now, that you know how they decide you will know if you ever do it again what you have to do. As long as you feel you did or do you best is what matters. You should be proud of yourself for even trying.

Thank you Yeah I feel I did try my best in the article I wrote and that I could have written more articles but I wasn't able to realistically so I did what I could and I am happy I put myself and my work out there.
I just have to keep on trying and every time I do it I learn some more and improve! Which increases my chances of winning
