This is one of those days where I appreciate retirement. No work on the Monday after time change! No wine either, which leaves more for others (like @DianneN , who inspired this countdown) to consume. But I do have wine songs!! And here’s the next song.
#3: Two More Bottles of Wine - Delbert McClinton
While Texas blues/rock/country singer Delbert McClinton has hit the top 40 once (1981’s “Givin’ It Up for Your Love”), this May be his best-known song. And, oddly, he didn’t have the “hit” with it! That distinction went to country songbird (and FOL [Friend of Linda]) Emmylou Harris, who hit #1 with her version in 1978.
1978? 1981?? That makes McClinton sound old. Well, he is...he’s 79. And he won a Grammy this year!
And he’s still rocking.
