Everyone Yelled at Me!

Thanks to the blurry photo my brother took, there’s the proof.
Saturday night 4 couples decided to go to the only somewhat decent pizza restaurant in all of South Florida, called Nick’s New Haven Style Pizza
It’s a very casual place, and we all dressed casually including me.
Yet, all the women yelled at me for dressing up just because of the silvery top I wore with black pants.
I’d wear that top to the grocery store and don’t think it’s too dressy.
What’s your take?

I plead the 5th! Maybe if it was with jeans, I could let it slide!

I’m wearing jeans, my “there’s a bathroom on the right misheard lyrics” t-shirt, and a lightweight hoodie. What do I know about “dressing up”?

@DianneN — please walk into the shower. You don’t want to fall and hurt yourself while hopping.

You look a bit fancy to me but I wouldn't expect anything less than fashionable from you. Let them be jealous!!

@DianneN - Since you were wearing the top with slacks, I would have thought of it as casual. Of course, Orange County is known for women wearing a little more glitz and glam than they do in other places. I think it depends on what people are used to and the part of the country they come from! I think it is cute!

Then she is representing Orange County better than everyone else there.

@DianneN - You would fit in very well in Orange County, especially Newport Beach!

Thank you!
Perhaps I should move to Orange County.
I have a best friend who gets dolled up like I do.
We don’t care how others Jew us, but I was shocked at how these friends reacted.
To me, I was wearing a casual shirt that happened to be silver.
Thanks for understanding.

I am blinded by the shiny! You look fine. Not dressed for opening night at Carnegie Hall.

That would be a good idea for the next outfit there.

Well, looking at the picture, it does look kind of dressy to me. Plus, I would think the pair of black pants were dress pants to. This also depends on what type of shoes you were wearing to. Were your shoes dress shoes? So in that case it would look like you were dressed up.
Now if you would have just thrown on an old pair of jeans with that, it would have looked a whole lot different. It would have looked like you were just wearing a silvery top with your jeans.

@DianneN I see where your coming from now then, if that's what you were wearing with it. That would be almost dressy but still be casual to.

My pants were baggy crinkly ones, and I wore black sandals.
I don’t wear jeans in Florida, because it is too hot for me.
Besides, I would never wear jeans out to a restaurant. That’s just me.
It must be my age, but thanks for the helpful hints.

@sweetashoney Thanks!
I do enjoy dressing up a bit when we go out.
Thank goodness I didn’t wear a dress!

If it's with Jean's it's casual.

@DianneN It is just the way you dress. I would have been in jeans and a t-shirt for pizza.

@wolfgirl569 I was going to order a dinner, but everyone wanted pizza.
Thanks!
I only wear t-shirts around the house or out walking, and I never wore jeans to a restaurant.
That’s just me.

Perhaps I'd say it would come off being dressy- a little bling always does--lol!

@DianneN Anyway too bad for them- they probably felt uncomfortable because they didn't have a nice top like that----haha!

You wore a silvery top with black pants, for you this was considered a casual outfit! If someone else came dressed another way, you wouldn't say a word They were making a big deal, out of absolutely nothing!

@DianneN The next time, I'd show up in a flowing wedding gown, just to see their mouths fly open! Tell them it's simply a 'pizza gown'

I think it's dressy; but obviously you don't....so, it's just a matter of preference and opinion. :-) Also, you wouldn't like me because I'm a jeans person!

It just happened to be a shiny casually cut top.
I haven’t worn jeans to a restaurant since I was in.......never. Especially not on a Saturday night.
Besides, they are a bit too hot to wear in Florida. Remember that little fact when you go to the Keys!
I still like you, no matter how you prefer to dress.
I’m just me, and dress to impress.
