Who Is The Best Cook You Know

This discussion reminds me of what my son told me last night. The last time my grandson came to visit I had cooked some potato soup and he really liked it. I had found a good recipe online after my son told me how good potato soup was and that his mother in law makes it sometimes. Well last night she cooked some potato soup and my grandson tells her "my grandma Pat's is better" I asked my son what said, he said she told him , well not everyone cooks the same. when my son told her that I cooked like her but just added some more things to it she told him to "find out what she adds". lol

Other than my Grannie, I think my late aunt Fannie was the best cook I've ever known. She cooked plain, country food and was well known in this community for her cooking and generosity. Many times she would call me at work and tell me to stop by on my way home and pick up our supper. She grew up in a very large family, so even after their children were grown, she always cooked more than she and her husband could eat.

I had an ex- who was a really good cook. But she couldn't spell.

My grandma and my mother. And being modest I can say that I am in their shoes now and I have some improvised version of their dishes.
